Illesheim is a small German village in the state of Franconia with a population of about 4,000 people. It is located about 45 minutes from the historic city of Nuernberg and two hours from Frankfurt.
It is worth visiting famous historic Rothenburg ob der Tauber, lacated at romantic street (less than 20 min by car).
Storck Barracks is named in honor of Colonel Louis J. Storck.
The village of Illesheim is located approx. three miles southwest of the city of Bad Windsheim. The region in which both Bad Windsheim and Illesheim are located is called Franconia (Franken) in the state of Bavaria.
At Bad Windsheim (“Bad” means that the city is a centre of SPA) you should visit the amazing spa called Frankentherme Bad Windsheim. It offers more than just pools: you find a small dead see lake, a variety of pools, a unique sauna park including snow chamber.
The 4 star Hotel Spaeth hosted many engineers and technicians during the period 1985-1987 the Flight Simulator was constructed in.
It is still in the possession of family Spaeth and operated by Ursula, Hans, Petra and Oliver Spaeth.
